A+ Course

The Computing Technology Industry Association or Comp TIA A+ is the certification course for computer support technicians. The Comp TIA A+ gives a broad knowledge and competency in core hardware and operating system technologies which include installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance and basic networking.

The international, vendor –neutral certification proves competence in areas such as installation, preventative maintenance, networking, security and trouble shooting.

To become Comp TIA A+ certified technician, you should also possess excellent customer service and communication skills to work with clients. The A+ certification program was incepted in 1993 and since then more than 700,000 people world-wide have become Comp TIA A+ certified professionals. Earlier, there were four versions of the exam but in was broken down into two separate exams. The first is Comp TIA A+ Essentials and Comp TIA A+ Practical Application. Today computers are ubiquitous which require trained and skilled technicians. Comp TIA A+ is a widely recognized certification in the IT world; these certified professionals can find employment in leading hardware and software firms and at support centers.
