DESIGNING TOOLS

Flash

Abode Flash is vector animation software and is originally designed to create animations, video and interactivity for display on web pages. Vector graphics are ideal for the web since they are light weighted. Flash is often used for advertisements and games, recently it is been positioned as a tool for “Rich Internet Applications” (RIAs). It was introduced in 1996 and is currently developed and distributed by Abode Systems. With the release of new versions of Flash, Macromedia has made Flash more controllable via programming, where they have it positioned as a competitor to HTML to build interactive web sites and applications such as an e-commerce store.

Flash has various features such as –

  • Since Flash is vector based; Flash movies load faster and save on download time.
  • Flash intelligently “caches” its movies so there is no need to reload it.
  • Flash gives the user a more responsive “rich-client” like experience.

Flash enables you to create interactive “movies” on the web; it uses vector graphics which means that the graphic can be scaled to any size without losing clarity and quality. Flash does not require programming skills and is easy to learn and use.

Abode has so far been successful in creating an API (Application Programming Interface) that enables different skill level of designers and developers to utilize it for their own needs. Flash has got all the tools necessary to create a simple flash animation, or an e-commerce site with database integration. There is no specific eligibility counted to do a Flash course. Flash designers are employed in the Entertainment industry, video game companies, advertising firms, and computer companies. Disney, Pixar, Silicon Graphics, Accolade, and Sega of America are some of the companies that hire Flash designers.
